On March 8, 2023, Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders signed Act 237, known as the Arkansas LEARNS Act, into law. The Arkansas LEARNS Act is bold and comprehensive and will transform education in Arkansas.

The Arkansas Department of Education released school and district results today from the first administration of the Arkansas Teaching, Learning, and Assessment System (ATLAS), which replaced ACT Aspire, the previous assessment. Students took the new ATLAS assessments in the spring, and for the first time ever, parents will soon have access to their child’s scores through the parent portal and can begin conversations with their child’s educators regarding supports to elevate learning.

Last spring, students in Arkansas took a new state test called ATLAS – the Arkansas Teaching, Learning, and Assessment System. It replaces the old state test and is aligned to Arkansas grade-level standards.
